The Divine Lessons of Autumn Equinox

Navigating Earth's Changing Tides...

The tides are changing and, in some ways, are intensifying....but I feel some positivity and empowerment coming in with the flow!

We are entering into the Autumn Equinox on September 22nd! The changing of the seasons reflects so much of the energetic experience each of us will most likely be going through in one way or another.

The Spring & Autumn Equinoxes are two points in our year where we experience equal day/night time, and Autumn signals to us that the days are going to grow shorter; the nights longer.

I Love Autumn so much! This season has been a great teacher to me, showing me the importance and the beauty of the life/death/rebirth cycle...the truest lesson within it being that Death is not really death at all.

I wish to share some of the symbology / reflections that I have gathered if you're willing to tune in....

Autumn.
Autumn follows Summer, and as we know, summer tends to be a very outward experience, connecting and playing with friends and family, enjoying the outdoors and the sunshine. As all cycles of nature seem to ebb and flow, Autumn tends to bring with it this natural response to shift our energy and attention from the outer world to go inward and bring more focus on our own personal life, energy, body, spirit.

Autumn harvest is where we get to pick all the magical fruits from the trees that we have been tending to all year. As such, this mirrors a similar experience into our own personal lives by gifting us a time of reflection to gather and give gratitude to all the fruitful lessons, skills, friends and blessings we have experienced since the rebirth of spring.

The leaves will begin to change color (on the mainland anyway!) and, one by one, they will fall away from their original home/tree. When it is their time, both the tree and the leaves let go and the leaves surrender themselves back to the Earth.

Now one might think that the leaves are 'dead' and the trees may even look dead with their empty branches, but those 'dead' leaves will eventually break down into new soil and feed/fuel the rebirth of the very tree that once birthed them into existence. And as we have seen every winter into spring, those trees that looked like they had no life left in them were simply meditating, hibernating until it was their time to bloom again.

The beautiful reflection of this Earthly process, once again, shines a light into both the physical and the metaphysical parts of our lives.

This is a powerful time for us to be like the tree and the leaves and tune into 'right timing' to let go

When does it feel right to let go of what once was?

What 'leaves' aka people, thoughts, beliefs, practices, behaviors, things, places, etc. are ready to be surrendered from my tree/my life as a means to create space, offer that energy back to the 'whole' and bare my Self to see what's left?

There's always SO much to discover or rediscover when we let go of all the excess.

Another perspective is that neither the tree nor the leaf try to control this natural process. Going inward, you might ask your Self:

Where might I be holding on tight, trying to stay in 'control'?

Where am I willing to soften a bit?

Where am I  willing to open more to the ebb and flow, the coming and the going of all experiences in this life?

Where am I  willing to create space for new life to eventually move through me?

Last but not least, this is a time where many animals, like squirrels and bears, begin to gather food and prepare for their winter hibernation period.

I feel this is a great reflection, helping us to see/know our next moves to prepare and support ourselves.

We let go of the old and discover what gems/fruits and parts of ourselves/our lives are still with us, and seeing what we might want or need to learn to improve our foundation. It's fascinating that the school year begins around this time, reflecting the energetic signature of wanting to learn and prepare.

Now, this process of both gathering and letting go as we begin the descent into the darkness of winter can also be a time dedicated to shadow work. Looking back to the questions I suggested above about letting go, surrendering and softening, this is a powerful time to also notice:

Where am I feeling resistance to change?

Where am I holding on? And Why?

What am I fearing?

Whether the fears you are experiencing hold logic or not, it is becoming clearer and clearer to me that fear is a Divine Invitation to the very transformation you/we came into this life to experience and learn from.

For it is just beyond the resistance of the fear frequency you are experiencing that You can and will access the Gift; the Opening; the Freedom; the Ability that You have been consciously or unconsciously desiring for some time now...maybe your whole life...maybe for lifetimes.

Our human collective, at least in the western world, has spent centuries fearing fear itself, condemning fear and "darkness" as evil while trying to shove it away as something separate, as something less than.

Studying Earth's seasons has helped me to see that Light and Dark / Day and Night / Life and Death are all part of the same whole...our whole.

Within each of us is both light and shadow, fear and surrender, love and confusion, connection and disconnection, truth and illusion. It's all there, waiting to be experienced, helping us to learn, to grow and to evolve in this mind-bending game of Life.

There will always be life, death and rebirth. Nothing ever really 'dies', nothing and no one gets to hold on to Anything in life, and there are never really any 'mistakes', for nature (and we Are nature) keeps on going and growing no matter what.

So if you notice yourself feeling resistance to the natural pull or pressure to let go and surrender yourself to change this Autumn, I invite you to soften and remember that fear is a lesson that when faced and overcome, can grant you new and fresh Life, and it can also be what stops you from truly living.

Blessings Abound. I Love You!
